"Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation." - Psalm 95:1

Joyful Noise is my personal archive of live music photography. I’m not a professional photographer - at all! - and I started it simply as a place to keep the photographs I’ve taking at gigs.

The photos I take and share are almost always from smaller venues. I love the raw physical expression of music: feeling the in-my-face performance, and the sweat, the movement of bodies, the elation, the anger and the worship from artists and crowds.

Some are loud, some intimate, many are imperfect and crude - and so are these photos.

The verse from the Psalms that inspired the name of this site - a psalm being a sacred song - suggests that worship doesn’t require flawless vocal pitch or perfect musical talent. An enthusiastic, sincere expression of a grateful heart is all that is required.

Joyful Noise is a collection of my photos: a flawed but sincere expression of gratitude to the bands and all the people who make these sacred gatherings possible.
